The organization
Before you lies the report for the final evaluation of my internship at Mitra Wacana. I did my
internship here from September to January. I did the first part of my internship in the
Netherlands at Stichting Present. The work I did there can be read back in the practical
curriculum.

Mitra Wacana is a Non-Profit Organization (NGO) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is a women’s
rights organization that focuses on the prevention of human trafficking. They do this by
providing information and education to women. Because it is impossible to approach all
women in the working area (Kulon Progo Regency), they have set up sister organizations called
Woman and Children Learning Centers (P3A). This organization is located at every location
where Mitra Wacana deploys its help. P3A assists Mitra Wacana in implementing Mitra
Wacana policies and programs. The information and education is therefore given to the
women of P3A, and then it is the intention that the women of P3A transfer the knowledge to
the rest of the village (Mitra Wacana Profile, n.d.).
